Less is More

Yes, I decided to take in the side seams on this dress, about an inch each with a little more at the waist. I also added the pockets. You can't tell much from the picture, but the fit is much better now and I'm much happier with it.

  4. Nancy - the pic on the pattern envelope looks like the garment was pulled and pinned in the back to reduce the fullness on the model. So I'm glad you found a way to emulate that and get the look you want!

  7. That is much much better. But I still think the obi belt would flatter you. Don't agree with earlier commenters about pockets, unless you do them in the same fabric as the dress. I sound like a style Nazi. Sorry!

  8. Very nice. I can tell that you took it in a bit, the silhouette has changed. It does look nicer and more importantly, you also look happier and more comfortable in it, which shows in the way you are wearing it. The neckline is very pretty on you.

I would never have chosen this pattern in a million years, but you've made it look fabulous.

The adjustments to the side seams were well worth it. They make a real difference.

  18. I liked it before, but I agree that the slimmer silhoutte is better. Much more current and less "house dress". Pockets are always a plus!!

Very cute dress. Perfect for a hot day. The loose fitting clothes are the hardest to fit for me. I can't decide what is a good ease. Glad that you are happy with it.
