I really like what you have done on the neckline and appreciate you won't want to go much shorter (I wouldn't) so alas, it won't be as cute. But it still looks good - especially for a hot day around the house. And very wearable out but just not cute as you hoped. Bugger this getting older...sighVickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01529416439720810403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33215142.post-44137249147103839322009-06-24T12:16:03.776-07:002009-06-24T12:16:03.776-07:00I love the sleeves as well - I think it looks grea...I love the sleeves as well - I think it looks great!christinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11548083279280665435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33215142.post-74235629999899319352009-06-24T12:09:21.556-07:002009-06-24T12:09:21.556-07:00I agree with you, Nancy, that a belt would look wo...I agree with you, Nancy, that a belt would look worse. I think it meets just fine your criteria for a summer dress to wear around the house and to the store.Meghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16245730088359572839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33215142.post-85056448033994606122009-06-24T07:40:27.012-07:002009-06-24T07:40:27.012-07:00I think it looks great for what you said you wante...I think it looks great for what you said you wanted it for, a "house dress" (there's the dreaded words!) I think we all have a funny love/hate relationship about the house dress - I have until recently since that's all mom wore while we were growing up and still does sometimes. Take the sides in a bit and it will be better. I love the pattern, I have a vintage girls dress pattern that has that type of sleeve.Myrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16163175961766563965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33215142.post-18138768884243155212009-06-24T06:54:56.382-07:002009-06-24T06:54:56.382-07:00Yes, this dress SEEMS like it needs a belt. I think I am going to try taking in the side seams. And I don't really have enough of the contrast fabric to make a belt. I'm going to do some pin=adjusting today.Nancy Winninghamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01291320098379550586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33215142.post-89015052818479782092009-06-24T05:52:50.973-07:002009-06-24T05:52:50.973-07:00I'm jumping on the bandwagon, it needs a belt....I'm jumping on the bandwagon, it needs a belt. It's just so big in the waist and hips that it needs to be pulled in. I think even just a simple tie belt out of the contrast fabric would be cute.BConkyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12567728669689070443noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33215142.post-50320300004240901272009-06-24T05:07:18.741-07:002009-06-24T05:07:18.741-07:00I agree with the belt suggestion, although that wi...I agree with the belt suggestion, although that will affect the "coolness" factor. Perhaps if you put a little curve in the sideseams to indicate a waist? Anyway--it's cute and will be a nice dress for the purpose you described.NancyDaQhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00609215745927535353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33215142.post-18514811509195190572009-06-24T04:04:46.498-07:002009-06-24T04:04:46.498-07:00I don't think it's bad, not at all. Try adding the pockets though, and maybe use the fabric you used on the neckline.zoranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33215142.post-14389076942357967672009-06-24T03:10:09.006-07:002009-06-24T03:10:09.006-07:00I agree. It seems everyone is wearing a belt with their full-type dress.gwensewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05809115166600229262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33215142.post-78148891175045549362009-06-23T22:51:05.244-07:002009-06-23T22:51:05.244-07:00Can I suggest that you try it with a belt.
