I've Decided to SWAP

Most of you know about the Timmel Swap. Basically, SWAP means Sewing With A Plan. This years contest consists of 11 garments:
1 jacket
4 bottoms
6 tops.
All items must be able to be worn with all other items. The kicker is that at least 3 different items must be made from one "wardrobe" type pattern. Also, there must be a qualifying purchase from Timmel. There are some variations and you can read about them in the rules if you are interested.

I've been going back and forth on this, since I already have another "plan" in Gray, black, and Burgundy, mostly with BWOF patterns. I have more than 11 garments in that plan, but it just won't work with the wardrobe pattern. But I also have some secondary plans: one with olive and black, one with brown and tan, and one with navy. What a wonderful wardrobe I would have if all I had to do was sew every day!! Anyway, I decided to tweak my olive and black plan to fit the contest rules. I'm going to use New Look pattern 6795 for the wardrobe pattern

This meant I had to buy some black knit for the pants and skirt. I also bought some green herringbone knit from Timmel fabric.

Here is my plan - subject to change, of course!

And, I also have it so that almost all of the BWOF patterns will work with my gray wardrobe that I will hopefully still do!

I like your plan and colors. Will be a great wardrobe. I'm still going back and forth between entering or not.

I love the idea of a swap but I'm not sure I have the patience to carry it out. You've chosen some great patterns and I know it will be great.

I did SWAP last year, and am still deliberating about this one. It takes a lot of commitment, especially towards the end. The planning is the hardest though, and you have done a SMASHING job at that. I love your wardrobe pattern AND you colors. Everything looks practical, wearable and not too difficult to sew. And, what a great job displaying your plan!

Nancy ~ I bought that same fabric but in the black & red. I want to use it to add to the SWAP pieces I made last year...continuing onto stage 2.

I really like your pattern and your fabric choices. It will be great to see them come to life! And I really understand about that having enough time to sew all of the things you think of...
